THE SPOTS
Two humorous :30s promote Hasbro’s Moods and Electronic Catchphrase games. "Good at Moods" opens on what looks like a shady backroom poker game. One of the players cannot contain his enthusiasm, as he giggles and grins at his hand. The voiceover states the obvious: "This man is bad at poker." The scene shifts to a living room setting where the man is playing Hasbro’s Moods, which is a much better environment for his personality. "Trunk" begins with a suburban housewife welcoming new neighbors to "game night." The additions turn out to be a Mafioso type and his wife. As a game of Electronic Catchphrase progresses, the couple’s answers to the questions grow increasingly ominous. (Q: "What do you use to get rid of something?" A: "A trunk.")
