Bryan Buckley of Hungry Man directed this promo spot for Comedy Central Latin America out of Wieden+Kennedy São Paulo that pokes fun at Latinos’ traditional daytime siesta by showing the contestants of a world napping championship who have to prove they are really sleeping.
The spot is part of the first campaign created by W+K for Comedy Central Latin America. The campaign centers on the concept “Comedy Continent” to point out Latin America’s natural comic talent and Latinos’ self-deprecating humor.
Comedy Central’s VP Creative Sean Saylor said the “Comedy Continent” campaign “allows us to start a dialogue with our audience, by having a social commentary on the funny aspects of living in such a colorful region as Latin America and Brazil. This is why we are doing a full digital campaign.”
