At the end of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy, played by Judy Garland, wakes up from her colorful experience with witches, munchkins and flying monkeys to find herself back in her black-and-white world, where she is surrounded by loved ones like Auntie Em. In a black-and-white spot that broke after midnight on New Year’s Eve, Dorothy wakes up to find Yellow, Red, Green and Blue, the ubiquitous M&M’s characters featured here in the same dull shades as the rest of the scene, at her bedside.
