The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) revealed its 2024 Outstanding Achievement Award nominees in feature film, documentary, television and music video categories. Winners will be announced during the 38th Annual ASC Awards ceremony on March 3 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Nominated in the marquee feature film category are: Ed Lachman, ASC, for El Conde; Matthew Libatique, ASC, LPS for Maestro; Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC for Killers of the Flower Moon; Robbie Ryan, ISC for Poor Things; and Hoyte van Hoytema, ASC, FSF, NSC for Oppenheimer.
Nominees for the ASC Spotlight Award–which recognizes stellar cinematography in independent, foreign or art-house-type/festival films–are Eric Branco for Story Ave., Krum Rodriguez for Citizen Saint, and Warwick Thornton for The New Boy.
On the TV side, nominees include cinematographers for their work on such shows as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Foundation, Gotham Knights, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, George and Tammy, Lessons in Chemistry, All the Light We Cannot See, Barry, Schmigadoon and The Bear.
Jon Joffin, ASC picked up a pair of ASC nominations–one for Schmigadoon, the other in the ASC Awards’ inaugural music video category for Jon Bryant’s “At Home.”
