Global creative agency Arnold Worldwide has named James Bray to serve as EVP, executive creative director. Based in the Arnold’s Boston headquarters, Bray will lead creative strategy and execution for the agency’s Carnival Cruise Line account and report directly to Jim Elliott, global chief creative officer.
Bray joins Arnold from M&C Saatchi LA, where spent the last six years helping the agency quadruple in size and billings. As ECD there, he managed a staff of more than 85 employees and 13 clients, including Reebok, Vizio, Epson, San Diego Zoo, Alibaba, FX and Oakley. Bray is credited with developing a number of key functions within the agency, including: SHARE, a social department; Bits&Pieces, an innovation department; and Heavenspot, an entertainment industry-specific agency.
Previously, as an associate creative director and copywriter at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Bray created fully integrated work for the NBA, Netflix, Adobe and Sprint. Before that, he was a writer at Fallon, producing award-winning creative on behalf of Holiday Inn, Citibank and BMW. While there, Bray also earned an Emmy nomination for his Travelers “Snowball” spot. He began his career at Doyle Dane Bernbach, where he worked on accounts like the New York Lottery, USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum, and YouthAids.
Bray has been recognized by nearly every major advertising and creative industry awards show, including the Emmys, D&ADs, Cannes Lions, Clios, ADDYs, Andys and The One Show.
