Director/ animator David Feiss, who’s handled via Beverly Hills-based talent agency The Irv Schechter Company, has joined San Francisco animation studio Wild Brain, for exclusive spot representation.
Perhaps best known as creator and director of Cartoon Network’s animated television series Cow & Chicken, Feiss has already wrapped his first commercial campaign at Wild Brain, serving as director/animator for "Cool Cat" and "PSA," which promote Frito Lay’s Cheetos Whirlz and Cheetos Mystery Colorz Snacks, respectively. Both spots came out of BBDO New York.
Feiss’ body of work includes 78 episodes of I.M. Weasel for Cartoon Network, and 26 episodes of Inspector Beaver for the Internet. He has also worked on numerous other projects, including The Jetsons (Hanna-Barbera), NBC’s Alf & Kissyfur (DIC), Little Nemo (TMS), All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and Driving Miss Pinky (MGM). Recently, Feiss has been working on a Warner Brothers’ pilot titled Fred Flower & Uncle Italian Moose.
Paul Golden, Wild Brain’s executive producer of commercials, said that company staffers have been longtime fans of Feiss. "Both the studio and our clients are definitely going to benefit from the kind of top-flight creative that Dave has been doing in his television work," related Golden.
Founded in 1994, Wild Brain is involved in commercials, TV, film and various interactive platforms. The studio’s spot endeavors include such work as Hershey’s Dancing Kisses, KFC’s animated Colonel Sanders and Pillsbury’s Jolly Green Giant, as well as ads for Sony, Coca-Cola and Nike. Among Wild Brain’s feature projects are the cel animated sequences for Universal Pictures’ The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle and Dudley Do-Right. The shop recently wrapped an original CG animated short film called Hubert’s Brain. Wild Brain’s library of original content includes 40 new titles, highlighted by several "Web Premiere Toons" distributed on CartoonNetwork.com. Wild Brain has also completed a slate of original work for TV, including the 26-episode series Poochini.
Feiss rounds out a field of some 20 spot directors at Wild Brain. The shop’s helmers are handled by art.fx, which consists of independent representation firms Claire|Alden on the East Coast, Vandamme on the West Coast, and monaghan+halpine, which covers the Midwest and Texas.
