Massimo Martinotti has been named president of the AICP Florida chapter. Martinotti is president/director of Miami Beach-headquartered Mia Films/ The Mia Network. He succeeds Bill Randall, president/ director of AFI/Filmworks, Miami, who headed the chapter for two years.
Martinotti said increasing Florida’s production volume will be his top priority. "In general and especially in Europe, people consider Florida only when they need to shoot on a beach or in a location with palm trees. Very few people know there are many production companies here accustomed to the highest international standards," said Martinotti.
The other newly elected officers include VP Lois Levinson, president of Levinson Productions, Miami; treasurer Keith Rouse, president of EarthQuake Productions, Miami; and secretary Peggi McKinley, industry liaison for ARTEC, also Miami.
AICP Florida’s new board members are René Barge, president of Music á la Carte, Miami; Mara Gurevitz, general manager of Cast & Crew, Orlando; Debra Klemm, director of sales at the Delano Hotel-Shrager, Miami Beach; Michelle Marx, a Miami-based independent production manager; Mercedes Palomo, president of Pigeon Productions, Miami; Richard Seres, publisher of Film Florida Publishing, Miami; Greg Scheinman, VP of Gun For Hire, Miami; Egon Stephan, CEO of CineVideo Tech, Miami; Anabella Sosa, executive producer of Fireworks Motion Media, Miami; and Linda Thornberg, executive producer of Music Works, Hollywood.
