In "Deuces Wild" SHOOT talks to Rachel Novak and Chris Ott, senior producers at Merkley Newman Harty & Partners, New York. Novak was the agency producer behind the Emmy-nominated Mercedes-Benz USA ad "Modern Ark," directed by Gerard de Thame of bicoastal HSI Productions and Gerard de Thame Films, London. Ott was the producer behind Mercedes’ "Aaooga," directed by Victor Garcia of bicoastal Morton Jankel Zander, and also up for the Emmy award for best primetime commercial.
"Just Do It" looks at Vic Palumbo, a producer at Wieden+Kennedy, Portland, Ore. Palumbo was the agency producer behind Nike’s "Freestyle," directed by Paul Hunter of HSI, and also up for an Emmy. Palumbo relates how teamwork helped make the ad a reality.
Besides Mercedes, another advertiser has two spots up for an Emmy-PBS. "Light" and "Photo Booth," directed by Errol Morris of bicoastal/international @radical.media, out of Fallon Minneapolis are both up for the honor. In "Seeing Double," Mark Sitley, head of broadcast production at Fallon talk about how the spots were created.
