The American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) has elected its officers and board directors for 2000-’01, during a conference held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess, Bermuda.
Chairman of the board of directors is Philip B. Dusenberry, who is also chairman of BBDO New York. Dusenberry succeeds Shelly Lazarus, chairman/CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, in the top slot.
John J. Dooner, Jr., president/COO of New York-headquartered The Interpublic Group of Companies, was elected vice chairperson; and J. Melvin Muse, chairperson of Muse Cordero Chen & Partners, Los Angeles, is the new secretary/treasurer. O. Burtch Drake, the 4A’s president/CEO, also serves as a member of the board of directors.
The new directors-at-large, serving three-year terms through ’03, include Ron Berger, CEO/ chief creative director of Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/EURO RSCG, New York; Donny Deutsch, chairman/CEO of Deutsch, New York; and Michael Sennott, deputy chairman at Lowe Lintas & Partners, also New York.
The directors-at-large continuing their terms through ’02 are Alan Kalter, chairman/CEO/ president of Doner, Southfield, Mich.; Roger A. Haupt, CEO of B|Com3 Group, Chicago; and Bob Kuperman, president/CEO of the Americas at TBWA/ Chiat/Day Worldwide, Los Angeles.
The directors-at-large through ’01 are Ken Kaess, president of DDB Worldwide, New York; Brendan Ryan, chairman/CEO of FCB Worldwide, New York; and Christopher Jones, CEO of J. Walter Thompson Company, New York.
The new directors of the Eastern region are Bink Garrison, chairman/CEO of Holland Mark Edmund Ingalls, Boston; G. Brian Goodall, president of Hampel/Stefanides, New York; and Allen Kay, chairman/chief creative officer of Korey, Kay & Partners, New York.
The directors of the Central region are Jim Bergeson, CEO of Colle & McVoy, Minneapolis; Steve Drongowski, CEO of Fahlgren, Dublin, Ohio; and Peter G. Krivkovich, president/CEO of Cramer-Krasselt, Chicago.
The Western region directors are Cliff Einstein, chairman/corporate creative director of Dailey & Associates, West Hollywood; and Dave Sharp, senior partner, client services, for Bozell, Seattle.
The regional directors for the South are Tim McClure, executive VP/chief creative officer of GSD&M, Austin, Texas; and Lee Trone, chairman of Trone Advertising, Highpoint, N.C.
