1) You need to get in front of the ball. On certain projects that we’re hearing about it’s important to strategize on how to make them work and do it upfront in the beginning… act as if the job has already awarded and convince the client that it’s happening and it’s gonna happen here. This is nothing new per se but as budgets get more and more challenging you need to convey to your client that yes we can make it work. Having an open mind on how to tackle projects from an unconventional way sometimes bears incredible fruit. We’ve been fortunate to work with some great production companies and agency creatives that are open to hearing how one should approach their project. Sometimes we’re the afterthought and have to pick up the pieces but more often than not, as of late, they will want to hear our point of view.
2) “You can’t see the forest for the trees” is a great adage and one that as a company we avoid at all costs. About a year ago we hired an amazing agency producer to be our Executive Producer /Head of Sales. This gave us a different perspective when talking to agency’s and production companies. For any company, not just for a visual effects studio, one can get myopic in their thinking and approach. Finding common ground and strategizing with our clients allows us to better service them, their projects, and become more of a partner.
3) I am proud of each and every project that we did this past year. We service the hell out of each and everyone. From our production staff, engineering to the artists that do it. Each and every project is the most important.
