THE SPOTS
Two :30s emphasize the safety of the Honda Accord and Odyssey. "Taking a Break" features a child on a razor scooter who nearly collides with his mom, who’s loading birthday gifts into a Honda Odyssey; and a little girl eating cereal who’s broad-sided by her dog. Then a glowing vapor intervenes, which changes from an amorphous shape into a glassy angel. As the guardian angel flies through the front window to the back seat of the car, the viewers witness the safety features; the car drives off with the angel still in back. The spots ends with the tag line, "So safe, even angels can take a little break." "The Beast," which takes place in a hi-tech sci-fi lab, shows a metal cage being lowered from a helicopter, while lab technicians and silhouette figures of a family bustle down the hallway. A Honda Accord is released from the cage, and like a wild animal it spins out, performing skids and donuts, until dad puts his hand on the hood, taming the beast and driving off.
Spots broke Sept. 10.
