Marc Campana has signed with New York-based production/creative services boutique, Big Chair Productions as executive producer. Campana was most recently executive producer with Big Picture Communications, New York, a position he held since ’96.
Director Rob Michael Cohn and his wife, managing partner Elise Heshler, founded Big Chair in ’94, to provide a myriad of services including traditional spot production, client-direct campaigns and new media. The now three-person shop has relationships with creative directors and designers who work with them on a project basis.
Cohn-who also has a background in writing, producing and editing-is probably best known for directing the ’98 Equinox Fitness Club campaign via Anton & Partners, New York, which includes "Second Wife," "Rat" and "UFO."
Campana said he made the shift from Big Picture to Big Chair because he shared the same philosophies as Cohn and Heshler.
"We met through some mutual friends and started talking about where the commercial production business is going A and decided we wanted to work together in developing a business to bend and expand with the times. As well as doing spot work, we intend to explore opportunities in new media and broadband," said Campana.
During his 15-year tenure in the production industry, Campana has produced jobs for Pepsi, Hewlett Packard, Sprite, Burger King, Levi-Strauss, Canon, Minolta, Time Inc., Polygram Video, Reebok, HBO, and New York Sports Club. Credits at Big Picture include Kozmo.com’s "Cheating Heart," and "Goodfellas," via DiMassimo Brand Advertising, New York, directed by Joe Chapura (who has since left Big Picture to join Sandbank Films, New York).
Current projects that Campana is producing for Cohn include the spots "Beethoven" and "Romeo & Juliet" for Atlantic Lottery via Cossette Atlantic, Nova Scotia, Canada; a client-direct campaign for BMG Music; and an outdoor, print and interactive campaign for an unnamed San Francisco-based Internet professional services company.
Campana is currently looking into appointing a national rep for Big Chair.
