Music/sound design house JSM, New York, has added producer Jimmy Lee. He will assist in all aspects of production, both creative and administrative, and work closely with JSM president/executive producer Joel Simon, and all JSM clients, composers and production staff. Since his arrival at JSM, he has worked on spots for McDonald’s, KFC, Twix, Reuters, Pace Salsa, Newman’s Own and Coppertone.
Lee has worked on music for both national and international releases for the past 20 years. He composed and performed music for two films, The Salesman and Other Adventures (which won Best Short Film at the Sundance Festival in ’94), and Fresh Kill; played and performed live with Electra recording artist Freedy Johnston and Vernon Reid of Living Colour; and is also owner/president of Mine, Mine, Mine Music, New York, a BMI publishing company that administers his original work.
Prior to JSM, Lee worked as a radio producer at DDB New York. While there, he was responsible for audio production, creating original music, casting and directing talent, and recording, editing and mixing tracks. Lee’s credits at DDB include spots for Mobil, Hershey, Bermuda Department of Tourism, Cigna, Amtrak, Bud Light, Johnson & Johnson, Reuters, Compaq and AltaVista. From ’94 -’97, he was the production/ duplication coordinator at Superdupe Recording, New York, where he administered all aspects of production, duplication and distribution of radio advertising materials. Lee worked at Hit Factory Mastering, New York, from ’93-’94 as studio manager. While there, he oversaw a staff of seven and coordinated master production for CD, cassette and vinyl products.
