After three years as a coordinator in the program enterprises and distribution division of Showtime Networks, New York, Lia Hegarty has reentered the music industry as producer/account executive at Bang music + sound design, New York. She will work with Bang executive producer Brian Jones, assisting in spot production, account coordination and in the management of Bang’s film and television scoring enterprise.
Bang’s president/creative director Lyle Greenfield commented, "We were looking for someone who had not the agency background, but one who has more of a music background and with a strong sense of taste."
Hegarty said she departed Showtime "to get more involved with music." For eight years before joining Showtime, Hegarty had been freelancing as a singer/guitarist. While in Dublin (her native country), Hegarty had performed in local venues such as Slattery’s and Dublin Community Radio. Moving to New York in ’95, Hegarty joined rock band Baby Jenkins as lead vocalist. She later departed the band to perform solo.
At Showtime, Hegarty is currently working on Sprite’s "Dreams," via Lowe Lintas & Partners, New York, and a product relaunch for Virgin Beverages via Long Haymes Carr, Winston-Salem, N.C. "I feel that I’ve become a member of a unique family. Everyone is here because they love music," said Hegarty.
Greenfield and Jones head up national representation for Bang.
