The DGA has named Ted Kim, Alison McDonald, Joan Stein—all from Columbia University, New York—and Cristina Lois, from the School of Visual Arts, New York, the winners of this year’s East Coast Student Filmmakers awards.
Kim won in the category of Best Asian-American Student Filmmaker on the basis of The Uncertainty Principle; McDonald, in the African-American category for The Life and Times of Little Jimmy B; Stein, in the Women category for One Day Crossing; and Lois, in the Latino division for Anduriña. The films will be screened in New York on Oct. 18.
