The DGA has named Ted Kim, Alison McDonald, Joan Stein-all from Columbia University, New York-and Cristina Lois, from the School of Visual Arts, New York, the winners of this year’s East Coast Student Filmmakers awards.
Kim won in the category of Best Asian-American Student Filmmaker on the basis of The Uncertainty Principle; McDonald, in the African-American category for The Life and Times of Little Jimmy B; Stein, in the Women category for One Day Crossing; and Lois, in the Latino division for Andurioa. The films will be screened in New York on Oct. 18.
