VirtualMagic Animation, a Hollywood-based digital ink, paint and compositing facility for 2-D animation, has hired Chrisie Russell and promoted Ryan Robertson to posts as production managers.
Russell comes over from Warner Bros. Feature Animation, Burbank, Calif., where she worked for three-and-a-half years as assistant production manager on such features as The Iron Giant, Space Jam and Quest For Camelot.
Robertson was upped from production coordinator to production manager. He started at VirtualMagic as an administrative assistant in ’97.

Rounding out the winners of this year’s films screening In Competition are:

- Winner of the Grierson Award in the Documentary Competition – Mother Vera (Dirs. Cécile Embleton, Alys Tomlinson)
- Winner of the Short Film Award in the Short Film Competition – Vibrations from Gaza (Dir. Rehab Nazzal)
