Rhinoceros, New York, has added veteran editor Ciro DeNettis to its roster. DeNettis comes from Shoot First Editorial, where he spent the past four years.
At Shoot First, he cut the currently airing campaigns via New York-based Grey Advertising for American General, featuring New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, and for Six Flags. Additional clients include Seagram’s, Volkswagen and GTE. Earlier, he cut the first "Be A Pepper" campaign for Dr Pepper via Young & Rubicam, New York.
Prior to Shoot First, DeNettis co-founded now-closed editorial shop The Editors Film Service. Before that, he ran a solo operation, Follow Ciro.
DeNettis’ decision to join Rhinoceros was made in part because Shoot First owner/editor Jeff Dell recently announced plans to close his company and retire (see story above).
"Opportunity knocked," he said when Rhinoceros called. DeNettis has known Rhinoceros president David Binstock and executive VP Tim Timpanaro through the business for nearly 20 years. "They are great people and it’s a really nice shop," DeNettis said. "It was the right place to move. Rhinoceros has a terrific reputation."
DeNettis begins at Rhinoceros with assignments to cut a L’Oreal campaign via New York-based Publicis, and a Festia Watches campaign for Brooklyn-based Marino & Co.
