Dan Rosen, the former president of the New York divisions of Unitel Video, has been named president of Manhattan Transfer/Edit (MT/E), also in New York. Rosen was also made VP of International Post Limited, the parent company of MT/E….The Los Angeles City Council has approved the concepts behind three proposed measures: restructuring the permit-issuing Los Angeles City Film Office; a conversion of that office into a cooperative nonprofit public/private partnership; and merging the Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County Film Offices….Director/cameraman Joe Murray, formerly with bicoastal Headquarters, has joined Shadowrock Productions, Burbank, Calif….
“Memoir of a Snail” Takes Top Prize At London Film Festival
The Official Competition jury said: “Our jury was incredibly moved by Adam Elliot’s Memoir of a Snail, which is a singular achievement in filmmaking. Emotionally resonant and constantly surprising, Memoir tackles pertinent issues such as bullying, loneliness and grief head-on, creating a crucial and universal dialogue in a way that only animation can. The jury is delighted to recognize an animated film alongside its live-action peers.”
Rounding out the winners of this year’s films screening In Competition are:
