SANTA MONICA, Calif.-Audio post facility AudioBanks has secured engineer Tony Pepper, rounding out a roster of mixers that includes Sonia Castro, Chris Winston, Dona Richardson and recently promoted Andy Simon. During his first week with the Santa Monica shop, Pepper mixed projects for several shops, including Wong Doody, Seattle.
"Tony really complements our engineer team," said AudioBanks general manager Sarah Banks. "He has a wealth of experience in producing and mixing and, being such a huge sports fan, has contributed his talents to numerous sports-related promos and commercials.
"I am excited to join the team at AudioBanks and collaborate with the company’s extensive client base," related Pepper who comes over from Jacor Communications in San Diego, where he wrote, produced and directed on-air image campaigns and commercial advertising, as well as managed the company’s production department. Before moving to San Diego, Pepper enjoyed a successful tenure as mixer/engineer at Hollywood Recording Services. There, Pepper garnered extensive experience with short-and long-form audio post, including TV and radio commercials, movie trailers and television programs. In addition, he worked extensively on audio editing and dialogue recording for Disney Feature Animation on Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan. Other Pepper credits include MTV’s Legends series and TV trailers for NBC.
A San Diego native, Pepper entered the industry in ’81, producing and directing live radio broadcasts for more than 500 San Diego Padre baseball home and road games. From ’91 to ’94, he also wrote, produced and directed radio spots for San Diego radio station KFMB.
