This online video, entitled “Romance When You Need It,” shows a group of office workers living out their literary fantasies via Harlequin romance novels whenever they can find a quick moment. Women are swept off their feet by gents ranging from a dashing billionaire playboy to a tough good looking hunk of a fireman. Ben/Dave of Partners Film, Toronto, directed the piece for BBDO Toronto.
“Harlequin Romances offer today’s women a perfect break from their daily stresses and pressures. The work also demonstrates Harlequin’s relationship with women in an engaging, playful manner,” said Linda Carte, VP/associate creative director at BBDO Toronto.
The video is live on a campaign specific splash page: www.RomanceWhenYouNeedIt.com, which also offers descriptions of Harlequin’s library of titles and a link to 17 free Harlequin Romances, downloadable in PDF or EPub formats. There is also a print and social media campaign.

McCann New York launched a campaign for the New York Lottery which includes this music video-style spot directed by Christian Breslauer of London Alley. The :30 features a signature song, “Sounds Grande,” as we see our featured music video protagonist get into the lotto spirit thanks to the new GRANDE Scratch-Off Games (up to $3 million in cash prizes, and a chance drawing for one of 100 VIP trips to Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami).
