Canon celebrates the 25 year anniversary of its first EOS Rebel SLR camera by rolling out its “Rebel With A Cause” campaign out of Grey New York. The first video features Nik Wallenda, a member of The Flying Wallenda Family, and the first and only person to walk a tightrope across Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. In this piece, Wallenda visits a senior center in Sarasota, Florida, and meets senior citizens there, giving them the opportunity to check off items on their personal bucket lists.
We see one elderly man fly in a fighter jet while a woman goes on a joy ride in a souped up car on a racetrack. The video was shot entirely on Canon EOS Rebel T6i DSLR cameras.
The “Rebel With A Cause” campaign will continue with hip-hop artist and multi-platinum record producer Swizz Beatz, who has recently become a major force in the art world. However, instead of focusing on his own art, he’s focused on finding the next great, unknown artist. Future installments of the campaign will feature a range of other high profile individuals each embracing their own cause. Every rebel has his or her own unique story, and the campaign will encourage everyone to find their inner rebel.
