Soccer is taken to a different kind of level playing field, literally–on the backs of Nissan NT400 Cabstars trucks. As the trucks pick up speed and separate from each other, thus breaking up the field of play, the players continue to play all-out soccer. A new brand of “Truckerball” is born, bringing a moving vehicular dynamic to an already demanding sport.
The players’ skills are tested to the extreme, ultimately resulting in the scoring of a goal–much to the delight of fans following the action in moving Nissan vans.
Directed by Emil Möller of Control Films for agency TBWAG1, the “Truckerball” film was released online this past weekend just before the UEFA Champions League final.
Nick Cooper, executive European creative director, TBWAG1, said, “Nissan’s partnership with UEFA Champions League offered us an exciting opportunity to crate a campaign that showcases Nissan’s commercial vehicles in an unexpected and memorable way. While these vehicles are, by necessity, practical and efficient, we were delighted to be given the chance to bring out the innovative and exciting side of the LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) range.
The campaign features a cameo appearance from Nissan brand ambassador and Manchester City star player Yaya Toure who helps Nissan to put the footballers through their paces.
