Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America released a :60 in which we see customers informed they cannot be in a grocery store with certain items–a skateboard in the case of a young man traversing the aisles; a water gun for a boy sitting in a shopping cart; and a dog brought in by a woman who is told her pet potentially compromises food safety. Meanwhile a man is able to walk through the store with a gun strapped to his back.
According to the Grey Toronto-conceived piece, open carrying of firearms is permitted in Kroger supermarkets, while skateboards and the like are among the prohibited items per company policy. Meanwhile other chains such as Safeway, Whole Foods, Costco, Target and Albertsons prohibit firearms in their stores.
Moms Demand Action has a petition calling on Kroger to prohibit open carry in its supermarkets. The petition thus far has more than 360,000 signatures.
Titled “Not Allowed,” the :60 was directed by Tamir Moscovici of Spy Films, Toronto.
