This spot shows two guys in total relaxation mode–they are laid back in leather recliners, wearing bathrobes, their hair wrapped in towels, and slices of uncooked bacon covering their eyes. All the while more bacon is sizzling in a frying pan nestled between the two recliners.
“I am so relaxed,” says one of the gents.
“This is aroma therapy,” observes the other.
A voiceover declares, “Life is good in the Republic of Bacon.”
This offbeat spot is part of a campaign introducing Maple Leaf Bacon’s new reclosable packaging as well as a community for bacon lovers at republicofbacon.com. Like any country, the Republic of Bacon has many attractions, including: A casino where you can win bacon for a decade; a Red Light District where you can watch edgier videos; restaurants where you can find select bacon recipes; a PSA section where a Bacon Safety Sergeant provides bacon safety tips and where you can find the national anthem of the Republic of Bacon; and a community that features bacon bloggers from around the net.
