JOAN Creative, a full service independent advertising agency based in New York City, has launched JOAN Studios, a formalization of the agency’s full suite of production services.
“The ‘grand opening’ of JOAN Studios is an important moment for JOAN. Today, we are officially debuting the unique suite of production services which we’ve developed over the past year,” said JOAN co-founder and CEO Lisa Clunie. “By taking a strategic approach to any situation, and engaging talent across the world, our clients benefit from a full-service model for projects of all scales. What’s more, the endless array of production possibilities allows our creative department to really come alive.”
JOAN Studios specializes in full-scale shoots and direct-to-client productions, including TV commercials, video content, documentaries, online advertising, social content, gaming and photography, for a range of JOAN’s blue-chip clients.
JOAN Studios has also developed a remote production model that the agency has fine tuned over time. Engaging a global talent pool, JOAN Studios works remotely with creators to produce content, including video, CGI, motion graphics, photography, collage and hand-drawn art and illustration, all of which can be developed from the creators’ respective studios, under the direction and guidance of JOAN Studios.

The agency has also selected Daniel Marin to helm the new division, naming him president of JOAN Studios. In this role, reporting to Clunie and Robinson, Marin is responsible for all production within the agency.
“Daniel is the ideal leader for JOAN Studios,” said Robinson. “He has made stunning documentaries for pennies, is an expert in all things postproduction and has a very exciting business mind. He brings vast connections and resources that have helped us to better serve the business we are winning.”

Marin brings an extensive advertising background, including expertise in content production as well as account and finance, to his role as president of JOAN Studios. He spent over 15 years at Publicis and WPP, where he led production teams and built out content studios within agencies and brands. Most recently, Marin served as a consultant for global brands to build in-house content studios.
Marin, who holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, actively mentors alumni and new talent exploring opportunities in the advertising industry.
