Pulse Films has signed director Colin Read to its music video roster for global representation. Read launches his Pulse tenure with a new Glass Animals video for “Dreamland,” devising a self-contained “flat pack” to bring it to fruition during the pandemic lockdown. Read pulled together a master instruction booklet, covering every step of the music video process: delivery, set build and dressing, lighting, setting up a dolly track and camera. Along with that main guide, he also provided an accompanying photo glossary of everything mentioned in the instructions, all numbered and cross-referenced. Vocalist Dave Bayley was thus able to build and dress the set, lay a dolly track as well as set up the cameras and rig the lighting at his home. The whole team worked together via video chat to help instruct and deliver the set-up, with Read able to direct the cinematic shoot and to troubleshoot any issues that arose. Coming from a narrative fiction background, Read obtained his MFA in creative writing at NYU before jumping fully into the world of filmmaking. While working as a touring videographer and editor for skate brands, he created several full-length independent skateboarding features including the award-winning Spirit Quest (2016) which garnered attention both inside and outside the skateboarding world. Read has since directed stand-out pieces for Radiohead, Battles, Converse, Viceland, and more. His work has been screened by venues including MoMA, the Hammer Museum, the Berlin Music Video Film Festival, the Shiny Awards Showcase, the 1.4 Awards Showcase, and Mimpi Film Fest…..

An entrepreneur in the film, TV, and streaming industries for the past 20 years, Solomon has launched and operated a number of award-winning companies–the most recent having been Big Block Media Holdings, an Emmy, Cannes, Webby, Promax, and Clio winning integrated media company he founded nine years ago. In terms of recent work, The Embassy reunited with AREA 23/FCB and RSA director Robert Stromberg (Maleficent) to craft a series of fantastical VFX environments for Emgality’s new campaign. The team has also been in full production for the past 16 months on all VFX work for Warrior Nun, an upcoming 10-episode series for Netflix. The Embassy was responsible for providing everything from concept art to pre-production, on-set supervision, and almost 700 visual VF shots for the show. The team in Vancouver is currently working both remotely and in the studio to deliver the full 10 episodes….
