Deutsch has hired Doris Chung, SVP, creative director, to spearhead the agency’s creative work for Mott’s and Canada Dry. Chung reports directly to Pete Favat, chief creative officer of North America.
“Doris is truly a jack of all trades,” said Favat. “She has created powerful work for world-renowned brands from American Express to Harley-Davidson. Her global experience and passion for nontraditional mediums fits well with our creative vision, and I know she’ll have an impressive impact on our work for clients.”
Prior to joining Deutsch, Chung served as SVP, group creative director, at DigitasLBi, where she spent more than a decade creating award-winning work for brands including Buick, GMC and P&G. One of the most recognizable campaigns of her career is American Express’ “Everyday Genius” featuring Tina Fey. Previously, she was a creative director at Arnold Worldwide and Directech eMerge. She started her career in the nonprofit sector at the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a senior art director. Throughout her career in advertising, Chung has won numerous awards including being named in the Ad Club’s New England top 100 creative directors.
“There has been so much groundbreaking creative to come out of Deutsch, especially on iconic brands like Taco Bell, Volkswagen and Dr Pepper,” said Chung. “I worked with Pete at Arnold for many years and am thrilled to be on his team again.”
Immigrating from South Korea, Chung was raised in Queens and graduated with a degree in graphic design and advertising from the Art Institute of Boston.
This hire comes on the heels of the agency winning Mott’s, Canada Dry, Tile, Target holiday and 7-Eleven in 2017.
