BRF (B-Reel Films) has signed director Eva Michon for commercials and branded content worldwide.
Born in Johannesburg, Michon grew up in Toronto, where she studied film at Ryerson University. She cut her teeth making music videos for bands such as Owen Pallett and Head Wound City, before expanding into the commercial and narrative filmmaking world for clients including Canon, Lincoln Motor Company, Facebook and fashion brands such as Ace & Jig and Rita Liefhebber. Michon wrote and directed a short film, Small Fry, starring Lucia Santina Ribisi, which screened at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, and is expanding it to a feature this year. Additionally among Michon’s recent credits is the lauded Harrison music video “Right Hook.” She is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Bad Day, a creative cutting edge biannual arts and culture magazine.
“Eva has a gift for exceptional cinematic storytelling and natural comedic timing,” said Pelle Nilsson, founder and CEO of BRF. “She is a fierce filmmaker and writer with a creative vision who will complement our existing offer seamlessly as we continue to look for new ways to reach audiences across evolving formats.”
Prior to joining BRF, Michon was at production house Ways & Means.
