Steve Clarke has been named executive creative director at CP+B Boulder to lead the agency’s global creative work for Infiniti. Additionally, creative director Bo Deng has joined CP+B’s Hong Kong office to support the Infiniti global account.
Clarke comes over from Blue Hive London where he led European creative for Ford–including last year’s successful European launch of the Ford Mustang–as deputy executive creative director/acting CCO Europe. Clarke brings a wealth of expertise in delivering creative across global markets, having worked at Ogilvy & Mather, DDB, JWT, TBWA, Publicis and 4-Creative, with stints in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Detroit, as well as experience working on the VW and Mazda accounts. In addition to his day job, Clarke writes screenplays–two of which are in development–takes photos and makes the occasional short film.
Deng comes to CP+B from Ogilvy’s Asian headquarters in Hong Kong. A native of China, though raised in southern California where he graduated from the Art Center College of Design, Deng has extensive agency experience on both continents working on a variety of brands from automotive to clothing. As group creative director at Y&R Shanghai, Deng looked after the launch of Gap icons, introducing American classics such as the Gap-T and The Hoodie in China. Through stops at agencies including Goodby Silverstein & Partners SF, AKQA SF, Team One LA, Deutsch LA, and BBDO Beijing, he worked on major campaigns like 2012’s Lexus rebrand and the VW Super Bowl initiative the same year, and helped launch the Mercedes M-class and AMG in China in 2013.
Since CP+B began working with the brand, Infiniti has broken global sales records with a 16 percent year-over-year increase in 2015. That time has also marked momentum for CP+B’s modern global agency model, with the addition of creative and strategic leaders like Kevin Jones, ECD LA; Gustavo Sarkis, ECD Miami; and Eric Zuncic, chief strategy officer, as well as new global assignments for American Airlines, PayPal and others.
