Tröll Pictures has been launched in L.A. by Brickyard VFX partners Dave Waller, Patrick Poulatian, Kirsten Andersen and Steve Michaels. The new venture’s day-to-day operations are headed by executive producer Peter Steinzeig, with two decades of experience in domestic and international commercial markets, and Michaels, who has managed leading visual effects studios from Method Studios to Brickyard. Tröll opens with a roster featuring directorial duo the Snorri Bros, consisting of Eidur Snorri and Einar Snorri.
Over the years the Tröll team has worked with the Snorri Bros on various projects for brands that include Hummer, Palm and Texas Health Resources, entailing a mix of storytelling and visual effects. Prior to joining Tröll, the Snorri Bros were most recently handled by Pulse Films. The siblings made their first major filmmaking splash internationally with the innovative stop-motion animation music video for R.E.M.’s “Daysleeper.” The Snorris then went on to direct commercials for Sprint, Kenneth Cole, Panasonic, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz, among other clients.
Tröll’s roster of live-action directors will be able to exploit Brickyard’s VFX talent and resources in both Los Angeles and Boston for select projects.
“Tröll is positioned to address the recent trend towards all-in commercial production, and with distinct creative talent such as the Snorri Bros, we can take any project from inception to completion,” said Steinzeig.
