Creative directors David Povill and Dave Cuccinello have joined 180LA where they will partner to lead the Mitsubishi Motors of North America account, along with other duties.
Povill’s work on brands like Old Spice (“Smellcome to Manhood”) and Volkswagen has won numerous Pencils and Lions, and his Super Bowl spot for VW, “The Force,” held a Guinness World Record for most shared ad ever. He was most recently at Deutsch LA and has worked at other top agencies across the country including Wieden + Kennedy, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, ChiatDay and David&Goliath.
Cuccinello is an art director by trade, bringing with him over 12 years of experience. Most recently he was at Grey NY where he was running Volvo, Crown Royal, and Canon, winning an Emmy and a Silver Lion for Canon’s “Inspired.” Prior to that, Cuccinello was at David&Goliath where he worked on Kia, most notably “Joy Ride,” “Expectations” and the original hamster fare for the Kia Soul.
While partnered for the first time at 180LA, Cuccinello and Povill sat in adjacent offices at David & Goliath.
“We’ve shared a wall, but this is the first time we’ve actually been able to physically see each other,” joked Povill. “I always respected his work though and when I heard he was coming to 180LA too, I knew it was the right move.”
