The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) have announced nominations for outstanding achievement in writing for the screen during 2014. Movies recognized in the Original Screenplay category are Boyhood, Foxcatcher, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Nightcrawler and Whiplash.
In the running for Adapted Screenplay honors are American Sniper, Gone Girl, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Imitation Game and Wild.
Nominated for Best Documentary Screenplay are Finding Vivian Maier, The Internet’s Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz, Last Days in Vietnam and Red Army.
Winners will be honored at the 2015 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 14, at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City.
