Director Robert Boocheck, known for his visual comedy style, has joined the roster of Click 3X. His spot credits span such brands as Adidas, Ray Ban, ESPN, McDonald’s, Google, G4 TV, Johnnie Walker, Comcast and Toyota. His filmography also includes music videos for artists including Death Cab For Cutie, the Dandy Warhols, Bad Religion, Chromeo and Har Mar Superstar.
Boocheck attended Emerson College where he first pursued his love for filmmaking. He then moved across the country to Los Angeles where he had the opportunity to intern for his directing hero, Sam Raimi. Raimi’s stories of his early days inspired Boocheck to form a filmmaking collective called Tomorrow’s Brightest Minds and still influences his directorial style today.
“The future of commercial production is going to be an integrated, one-stop shop process, where you can shoot, do the editing, coloring, visual effects and more, all in one place,” said Boocheck. “This is something Click 3X is already doing and I’m excited to join a company that’s ahead of the curve and has so many resources at their disposal.”
Boocheck recently directed a segment in the film ABCs of Death 2 that debuted at Fantastic Fest in Austin on September 19. The film will premiere in theaters on Halloween.
The director’s first spot with Click 3X is for Skippy Peanut Butter out of BBDO Minneapolis. The commercial mixes quirky visuals with CG talking peanut characters. The project was produced completely 360, with Click 3X handling the shoot, edit, VFX and finishing. Clickfire Media also handled the digital component of the campaign.
