Filmmaker Tania Verduzco and Adrian Pérez–who operate as a team under the pseudonym Los Pérez and take shared credit for their activities which include writing, directing, editing and music composition–have signed with Little Minx for representation in the mainstream American ad market. The directorial duo continues to be handled in the U.S. Hispanic market by production house Cortez Brothers.
Los Pérez earned inclusion into SHOOT’s 2013 New Directors Showcase largely on the strength of the Low Cost Music Festival’s “Don’t Wait to be old to visit Benidorm” piece which depicted senior citizens having a grand old, sexy time. The wildly humorous project came out of agency TBWA Madrid.
The directors’ spot credits also include Euromillones’ “Your Lucky Number” for McCann Madrid, Pepsi’s “Daddy Cool” via BBDO Ukraine, and Beeline’s “This is How We Wait For You” out of JWT Moscow. Their recent campaigns have been recognized at such competitions as the LIA, ADCE, Club de Creativos, and the Laus Awards.
Los Pérez is also credited with bringing a different style to the Spanish music video industry with a cinematographic and aesthetic narrative. Their music videos have been awarded and recognized by MTV and various music magazines. Among their music clips are Suma’s “Watching You Drift” and Catpeople’s “Love Battle” and “Sister,” all directed and edited by Los Pérez. Adrian Pérez is the singer for Catpeople, a notable independent rock band in Spain.
Individually Verduzco earlier earned second prize in the Young Director Award competition in Cannes for her Impact television commercial out of TBWA Barcelona. Her short film Pin-Up has also received awards from different festivals.
