Method Studios, Deluxe’s global visual effects company, has named industry veteran Bill Tlusty as VP in Vancouver. He will be responsible for supervising operations and encouraging further growth of the Vancouver facility, which currently employs more than 200 artists and recently turned out work for 20th Century Fox (“The Maze Runner”), Paramount Pictures (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”) and The Weinstein Co. (“The Giver”).
Tlusty has worked in the visual effects industry for 16 years. Most recently, he served as executive producer for Rhythm & Hues in Los Angeles, where he was lead executive on movies including VFX Academy Award winner “Life of Pi” and the nominated “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
Prior to joining Rhythm & Hues in 2005, Tlusty worked for Industrial Light & Magic, serving on all three “Star Wars” prequels and other blockbusters.
Currently Method is working on such films as “Jupiter Ascending” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Tlusty said he was drawn to Method’s strong talent pool in Vancouver and across all its studios. Method has facilities in Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, London, Sydney and Melbourne.
