The Artists Company has signed Barney Miller for national spot representation as a director.
Directing has been a steady side venture for the commercial editor who has been shooting for years on projects, from the Emmy-nominated web series Capture to musician/DJ Avicci’s music video “Wake Me Up” (which was co-directed with photographer Mark Seliger) and national campaigns for Super Cuts.
Sally Antonacchio, executive producer/owner of The Artists Company, said of Miller, “We have found an amazing artist who is a rock star in two different mediums which takes the concept of turnkey solution to a completely new level, being able to leverage his skills as both director and editor to take a project from inception to finish.”
This has become the longtime realization of this accomplished editor, currently with White House Post, whose notable work includes cutting groundbreaking campaigns for The Gap, VW, Avon and music videos from the likes of Lenny Kravitz, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fat Boy Slim, Elvis Costello and Kanye West. Miller’s sensibilities in editorial, content, fashion and beauty are evident in his directorial endeavors.
Miller said he felt that his “particular combination of skills were right” for The Artists Company roster. He added that he was drawn to the production house’s “impeccable reputation and strong history in the world of fashion/beauty” and that “meeting Sally sealed the deal by getting to know her interesting strategies for the future and her excitement about the out-of-the-box opportunities that are becoming more the norm in our industry.”
