Director Jeff Nichols–whose latest film Mud is the winner of this year’s Robert Altman Award, which is a Film Independent Spirit honor (given to one film’s director, casting director and ensemble cast)–has joined the roster of Rattling Stick for spots and branded content in the U.S.
A highly regarded American voice in cinema today, Nichols is also a Film Independent Spirit Award Best Director nominee on the strength of Mud, starring Matthew McConaughey. The Independent Spirit Awards will be held on March 1 in Santa Monica.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a University of North Carolina School of Arts alum, Nichols won over audiences with his critically acclaimed 2007 domestic drama Shotgun Stories. His dramatic thriller Take Shelter premiered at Sundance in 2011, landing at Sony Pictures Classics and winning numerous awards including the Critics Week Grand Prize, the SACD Award for Best Feature at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, and the FIPRESCI Award.
A current resident of Austin, Texas, Nichols is preparing to shoot his fourth feature film in the spring.
Rattling Stick, which maintains offices in Los Angeles and London, was founded by directors Daniel Kleinman and Ringan Ledwidge, and company president Johnnie Frankel.
