MSE to Introduce MatthewsSLIDER at IBC 2013
BURBANK, Calif.–Matthews Studio Equipment, manufacturer of specialized support for the entertainment industry, will introduce one of their newest products, the MatthewsSLIDER, at IBC.
“Recently we came to understand that shooters were in need of a simple, but multi-faceted slider for everything from the smallest cameras to a 175lb load,” said Robert Kulesh, VP of sales & marketing for MSE. From that evolved the MatthewsSLIDER.
Designed to complement a shooter’s creativity, this new camera platform is sturdy and lightweight, owing to its innovative open frame construction. “It’s camera operator and grip friendly,” said Kulesh. “Just to make sure we got exactly what our users needed, Mark August SOC and a full camera crew put it through it’s paces at Hollywood Camera. MatthewsSlider came through with flying colors.”
MSE’s newest support is virtually maintenance free (just keep it clean) and totally field adjustable with few basic tools. It can work upside down for low angle shots, can support more than one carriage at a time for A and B camera shots and has a positive lock at 90 degrees when in use on most dollies.
The MatthewsSlider comes in three basic sizes 29″, 35″, and 45″ (74cm, 89cm, and 114cm) but it is also available in many custom lengths in 4.75″ (12cm) increments between cross members up to 12′ (366cm). Each foot/track adds approximately 3lbs (1.4kg).
