How has your company been impacted by concerns over the coronavirus–or the virus itself if a worker or client has been stricken–in terms of business, your staff, client relationships?
Naturally can no longer offer attended mixes or studio rentals / talent recording. The production demand has decreased significantly for us as well.
The well-being, health and safety of people is clearly top priority. What measures have you taken to protect your staff and collaborators during this challenging time?
We are working remotely! IF we do need to monitor a mix with perfect room precision, we practice all of the CA-recommended guidelines for public health and safety.
How have you adapted your behavior, practices, policies, approaches, ways of thinking and doing business in response to the pandemic?
We have to think about how brands might re-position themselves, and of how to educate clients on remote workflow. We created a great online video that shows this. Our services have not changed! We can still produce a superior quality audio product in today’s new environment.
Were you in the midst of a particular project when the coronavirus outbreak hit and how did you manage to deal with that situation?
Yes – we informed the client that that particular day would be our last attended session, and we finished the project remotely.
What’s your biggest takeaway or lessons learned from your experience dealing with coronavirus concerns thus far?
Other than the shock at how quickly San Francisco shut down, and how quickly live action production stopped in its tracks, our takeaway is that we can keep working, and do it with alacrity and poise.
What advice, if any, would you offer to your counterparts at other companies/agencies, your clients and collaborators?
Let’s be creative with how we can keep putting out high quality products. We love to work and we’ll work even harder now that there’s more at stake.
Contingency plans have been prepared by many in light of the situation. Please share any aspects of those plans or tell us how your short and long-term business plans have been affected.
I can say that we’ll be taking advantage of the SBA offerings. Other than that, we’ll hope for a short down-time period!
It’s said that strength emerges from adversity. Do you see any silver lining or positive dynamic emerging for our industry/marketplace from this global health crisis?
I think it’s a great opportunity to turn inwards, reflect on what’s truly important, and perhaps have the chance to glean some insights on how we would really like to be partnering with our collaborators, both in the short- and long-term.
Have you deployed your company’s creative and communication skills to address the pandemic (PSAs, educational videos, other initiatives)? Please tell us about these efforts.
We have! Check out the video we made here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B-QQx6Wllpr/
