Led by husband-and-wife veterans of the legendary post production house Crew Cuts, The Post Crew opens with a diverse roster of artists and a culture that values fun and creative risk-taking
The Post Crew, a full-service commercial and film post production and edit house, has opened its doors on West 30th Street in Manhattan. Led by the husband and wife team of Jake and Nancy Jacobsen, former principals with legendary (and now defunct) post production house Crew Cuts, The Post Crew offers off-line editing, GFX, VFX, audio mixing, original music, color correction and grading, animation, sound design, final conform, and production in a collaborative environment that values innovation and creative risk-taking.
The new company, which is already working with clients such as Spectrum and FedEx, lives by a simple mantra: Creativity is contagious. Though based in NYC, The Post Crew is fully equipped to work with clients on both a national and global scale, offering free explorations for proof of concept; VFX and offline departments for creative ideation; an audio engineer that is both a talented mixer and a sound designer and composer; and award-winning editorial talent, some of which also have directorial expertise.
“Jake and I launched The Post Crew with an outstanding team of technologically savvy innovators that help clients bring stories to any screen,” said Nancy Jacobsen, Co-founder and Executive Producer, of The Post Crew. “We aim to foster a creative partnership with our clients, and to build a culture of family and creativity that brings the highest quality and level of talent to every project that comes through our doors.”
“Most importantly, we strive to make every project fun,” she continued. “We want your time with us to feel like a family reunion….you know, the good kind…with drinks.”
The Post Crew has assembled a diverse roster of editors and artists with expertise in comedy, visual storytelling, music videos, documentaries, TV series, sizzle films, promotional videos, and more. Collectively, they boast a boatload of awards and distinctions. A small sampling:
- Editor Sherri Margulies collaborated on the HBO spot “Chimps” with Jane Goodall, which won the first Emmy ever for a commercial advertisement.
- Editor Matt Vandaniker’s work with Accenture Symphologie won the Silver and Bronze Clio Awards in 2017, and his music video Falling For You (25M views and counting!) won best choreography at the 2017 Silver Sound Showdown Film Fest.
- Editor Gabriel De La Mora (AKA Choco) won a Grand Clio Award and a Silver Lion at Cannes for an episode of “The Hire” starring Clive Oven and an International Emmy for his work on Top Chef México
- Editor Matt Shapiro’s feature documentary “Public Figure” was the official selection of the 2019 Manchester Film Festival, winner of the award of merit at the Impact docs award, and an official selection in the 2019 SR Socially relevant Film Festival New York
Overall, The Post Crew maintains a staff of eight off-line editors, four producers, two graphic artists, two directors, two conform artists, one colorist, and an audio engineer, as well as a vibrant support crew of assistant editors and production assistants.
“Our talent is superior and skilled in all forms of media, and our artists enjoy working on a project from the original concept to the finished product,” said Jake Jacobsen, Co-founder and Editor, The Post Crew. “We are obsessed with client satisfaction and will work around the clock to ensure everyone is excited about the final product,”
