The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) and ICG Magazine are sending a pair of powerful messages at this year’s NAB Show, currently running at the Las Vegas Convention Center through April 19. One panel will be addressing the vital subject of sustainable production. The other will explore the DIT’s role in cooking up the “secret ingredients” that make modern movies the success they are.
Members of the ICG will join the Production Equipment Rental Group (PERG) in a discussion on Hitting 2030 Sustainability Goals from Prep to Wrap as called for by the Producers Guild of America. The panel can be seen in the North Hall N252/N254 on Monday, April 17 at 1:30 PM (PDT). Panelists are Zena Harris, President and Founder of the Green Spark Group; Amit Jain, Senior Director of Sustainability, MBS Group; Cynthia Pusheck, ASC, Director of Photography on Revenge, Good Girl’s Revolt, Sacred Lies and Beacon 23, and Sally Spaderna, Rentals Manager, Koerner Camera Systems (Portland, OR).
Panel moderator will be Michael Chambliss, Technology Specialist and Business Representative, ICG IATSE Local 600.
Chambliss will also moderate the panel Mix Your Secret Sauce with Digital Imaging Technicians, taking place on Tuesday, April 18 from 10 AM – Noon (PDT) in CineCentral, Central Hall Cine Pavilion. DITs are at the heart of this “secret sauce” – the data stream that is shaped, monitored, shared, duplicated, and transformed from pre-production, through the delivery from set to editorial. These men and women are part artist, part technician and part workflow specialist. Panelists are Dane Brehm: DIT, 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, King Richard (2nd Unit), Wandavision (2nd Unit LA) and Avatar 3 (Underwater Unit); and Johanna Salo: DIT, Shrinking, Super Pumped, Insecure and Little Fires Everywhere.

About THE INTERNATIONAL CINEMATOGRAPHERS GUILD (ICG) IATSE Local 600
The International Cinematographers Guild represents close to 10,000 members who work in film, television, streaming and commercials as directors of photography, camera operators, digital imaging technicians, visual effects supervisors, still photographers, camera assistants, film loaders, broadcasters and all members of camera crews and publicists. The first cinematographers union was established in New York in 1926, followed by unions in Los Angeles and Chicago, but it wasn’t until 1996 that Local 600 was born as a national guild. In addition to its work organizing, bargaining and enforcing contracts, advocating for legislation that serves working families, training and mentorship, ICG’s ongoing events include the Emerging Cinematographer Awards and the ICG Publicists Awards Luncheon. The Guild also publishes the award-winning ICG Magazine.
