Show Featured Passion Projects In Painting, Photography, Music + More
Sonic Union brought together the advertising community for an exhibition featuring art by over 40 advertising industry friends and colleagues whose creativity extends into different formats: photography, illustration, editorial and animation, paintings, fashion, poetry, music, film and dance. The show reception was attended by over 250 people who enjoyed an evening of creative inspiration.
The art show was conceptualized when Senior Producer MK Valentino considered the “creative” beyond what we see on the final screen in advertising, and wanted to offer a glimpse into the explorative creative minds within the industry.
“We wanted to elevate our industry friends and their independent creativity by making a community space for everyone to connect in ways adjacent to their work lives,” comments MK Valentino. “We are so grateful for everyone who shared their art with us. It’s something so personal to each artist, and it was a privilege for us to see. Having all of the guests celebrate with their peers, made this extra special.
MK worked closely with her team members Anna Frate and Nicole Suk – after putting a call out to artists, the trio were thrilled to see such an enthusiastic response from the industry.
“There was a coordinated effort from all of us to showcase 40+ artists in the best way possible; and be mindful of each artist's schedule in their respective industry job,” explains Anna Frate. “It made the show even more meaningful because the art they showcased are their passion projects that they made time for in their busy lives.”
“It was an incredible experience connecting with colleagues in this way,” adds Nicole Suk. “Learning about our clients’ creative talents in unassumed artistic fields was so fulfilling. It was a bonus to see folks networking on such an authentic level of creative passion.”
During the reception many attendees noted how much they wished they could have contributed to the event, so a second evening is already being planned. Details to be announced.
