Burberry’s “Open Spaces” and the music video “Cash In Cash Out” by Pharrell, 21 Savage and Tyler, the Creator, were named named Grands Prix winners at the 2022 Ciclope Festival.
Megaforce, which helmed “Open Spaces” via Riff Raff Films, was named Director of the Year.
In addition to the Grand Prix honor, “Open Spaces,” which had visual effects by The Mill and editing by Final Cut, won a raft of craft awards including Gold in the Direction and Choreography categories, Silver for Cinematography and Visual Effects, and Bronze for Editing. It was also recognized with a Gold in the Fashion Film category.
Along with its Grand Prix, the music video “Cash In Cash Out”, directed by Francois Rousselet, produced by DIVISION with VFX by Electric Theatre Collective, also won Gold for Direction and Visual Effects in Music Videos.
Around 90 entries were recognized at this year’s Ciclope Festival. Using a points system based on the jury’s decisions, a number of studios and individuals also won special awards. These went to:
- SMUGGLER and Iconoclast – Production Company of the Year
- Megaforce – Director of the Year
- Electric Theatre Collective – Visual Effects Company of the Year
- Final Cut – Editing Company of the Year
- The Mill – Animation Company of the Year
- String and Tins – Sound Company of the Year
- Stare Crazy and Supreme Music – Music Company of the Year
- Droga5 – Agency of the Year
The awards ceremony was held at Kino International in Berlin, marking the culmination of the sold out three-day festival (11/8-10), which featured speakers including Oscar-winning director Spike Lee, filmmaker/photographer Lauren Greenfield, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw. Ciclope trophies were awarded to films from around the world, including Japan, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa.

Jean Smart, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton among hosts for “SNL” season 50
Fresh off her Emmys win, Jean Smart will kick off the landmark 50th season of "Saturday Night Live."
NBC on Thursday announced the lineup of hosts for the season, which premieres Sept. 28. Joining Smart on the first show will be Jelly Roll as the musical act. He was also at the Emmys, singing during the ceremony's in memoriam segment.
It will be Smart's first time hosting "SNL."
Comedian Nate Bargatze will host on Oct. 5, with Coldplay as the musical guest.
Ariana Grande will host Oct. 12, with musical guest Stevie Nicks.
"Beetlejuice" star Michael Keaton will host on Oct. 19, the last show before Halloween, and Billie Eilish will be that night's musical guest.
The host on Nov. 2 will be "SNL" alum John Mulaney, with breakout sensation Chappell Roan as the music guest.
