Production company Tinygiant has added directing duo Taylor Reid to its talent roster for U.S. representation spanning commercials and branded content. Comprised of directors Nicholas Taylor and Paul Reid, Taylor Reid was founded in 2017 in Toronto, quickly making a mark in the Canadian market.
The directing team combined Taylor’s rich background in documentary film with Reid’s experience steeped in action sports, including projects that have captured world-class surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding. Earlier this year, Taylor Reid directed The Joy Smith Foundation’s national awareness campaign, “See the Trafficking Signs.” The poignant and harrowing centerpiece film in the campaign educates viewers on the common signs that someone may be at risk of a being sex trafficking victim. “Trafficking Signs” was produced by Untitled Films, a Toronto-based company which continues to handle Canadian market representation for the directorial duo. Past Taylor Reid clients include Air Canada, EA Sports, Ford, Mastermind, Porsche, RBC Bank, Red Bull, Subaru, TD Bank, Yamaha and Volkswagen.
Veronica Diaferia, founder and executive producer at Brooklyn-based Tinygiant, noted that Neil Champagne, the head of the company’s scripted division, met Taylor and Reid in Canada and immediately shared their work with her. “Now that they are in Los Angeles, we can’t wait to bring their talent to the States,” said Diaferia.
“Tinygiant is an amazing and supportive team, I think they have built a company that represents what the future of production will look like,” said Taylor who added that “their dedication to creating award-winning work that matters makes them a natural fit for us. Sara [Eolin, Tinygiant partner/EP] and Veronica bring an optimism and excitement to production. That is something that’s very important to us.”
Reid said that he and Taylor’s automotive and action sports background are “a great fit” for Tinygiant’s roster, adding that they were drawn to Diaferia and Eolin and the fact that Tinygiant is a women-owned and operated production company.
