London-based production studio KODE Media has added directorial duo Miles and AJ to its roster for U.K. representation spanning commercials, music promos and long-form content. After a chance encounter, editor Miles and creative script writer AJ quickly discovered a shared passion for filmmaking, reconnecting a year later to form their directorial partnership. The pair seamlessly blend Miles’ visual mindset, Unreal Engine and editorial talents alongside AJ’s wordsmithery and strategic mind in their offering. In their two years since entering the commercial space, Miles and AJ have turned out work for brands including Turo, Samsung, and most recently, Coca-Cola. The duo’s commercial success came as a result of their work for global musicians including the promo for Doja Cat’s otherworldly “Need to Know,” which saw the singer reach cosmic dimensions as virtual reality meets outer-space futurism. Director Brent Foster has joined Toronto-based Partners Film for representation in Canada. He continues to be repped in the U.S. market by Voyager. Prior to coming aboard the Partners’ roster, Foster was repped in Canada by Scouts Honour. His most recent projects include CAMH’s ambitious brand spot “No One Left Behind,” as well as work for clients as varied as SickKids, Canada Life, KIA Canada, and Huawei. His non-commercial projects include the documentary Enough, about a woman fighting back against violence in one of Nairobi’s most notorious slums. Foster’s work has already received kudos, including a young director award at Cannes, as well as recognition from the Clios, ADCC, and Marketing Awards. His career has taken him as far afield as Los Angeles, where he was a photojournalist for the Los Angeles Times; and India, where he worked as a freelancer for media outlets including The New York Times….
L.A.-based production studio Lord Danger has brought Anthony Ficalora on board as executive producer. He formerly served as EP at Picrow and prior to that, Gifted Youth. Ficalora has worked with such clients as Skittles, Snickers, Little Caesars and Honda, among others.
