TVU Networks, a Mountain View, Calif.-headquartered market and technology mainstay in cloud and IP-based live video production, has appointed Jean-Christophe (J.C.) Albou as sales director, Europe. In his new role, Albou will lead TVU’s sales and business development throughout the continent. Albou will report to Rafael Castillo, general manager/VP EMEA and Latin America. Albou comes to TVU after serving as southern Europe sales manager for LiveU for the past five years. While at LiveU, he established the company’s offices in France and Spain. Riedel Communications, which designs, manufactures and distributes real-time video, audio, data and communications networks, has promoted Paul Rivens and Graham Taylor to the positions of product marketing manager and regional sales director for the U.K., respectively. Rivens will be responsible for developing and implementing product-line-specific marketing strategies for the company’s intercom and audio solutions, while Taylor will oversee operations for Riedel’s sales business in the U.K. A broadcast professional with over 40 years of sales experience in the international marketplace, Rivens joined Riedel in 2005 as business development director and has since held the positions of general manager for the U.K. and, most recently, regional sales director for the U.K. and Ireland. He came to Riedel from sales management roles at Telex Communications and Philip Drake Electronics. Taylor brings 26 years of sales management experience in the broadcast sector to his new role at Riedel. He joined the company in 2015 as U.K. broadcast sales manager. In this position, he was responsible for half the Riedel U.K. revenue and helped double the U.K. market in his seven-year tenure. With his extensive computer networking and broadcast technology knowledge, Taylor has been a major contributor to Riedel’s success in the video market and has guided numerous high-profile customers on their way to an IP future. “Heretic” and “Maria” Set As Red Carpet Premieres At AFI Fest
The American Film Institute (AFI) has announced that Heretic, the psychological thriller starring Hugh Grant, and Maria, based on the life of opera singer Maria Callas starring Angelina Jolie, will round out the Red Carpet Premieres section at this year’s AFI Fest. The Heretic Gala Screening will take place on Thursday, October 24, and the Maria Gala Screening will be held on Saturday, October 26. The complete Red Carpet Premieres section includes the world premieres of Music By John Williams, Robert Zemeckis’ Here, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2. All Red Carpet Premieres will take place at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre. The full lineup for AFI Fest 2024 will be unveiled on October 1.
