Somesuch has signed directorial duo King She for representation in the U.S. and U.K. Partners in life and art, Radha Ganti and Robert Lopuski are the husband-and-wife team behind King She. Born respectively in India and Poland, Tanti and Lopuski are now based in Brooklyn. This year, they released their breakout film, Rare: The Boy Who Cried Swag, a dreamlike short about model Rico Sanches, his turbulent upbringing in Washington D.C., and his younger brother Raphael, whom he lost to police violence–and a subsequent cover- up. Since the film’s release, a petition to reopen the police investigation has gained almost 70,000 signatures on Change.org. The film premiered on Nowness, and went on to win three Young Director Awards at the Cannes Lions. Lopuski is an accomplished editor with multiple Clio, D&AD, and AICP wins, and Ganti is a former journalist and Carnegie Mellon fellow. She has developed and produced feature films for distributors including Sundance, HBO and The Criterion Collection. After making their names in their respective crafts, they began their directing partnership making visuals for ‘Yeezus’, as well as Jay Z and Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne” tour….
London-based creative content agency Contented has appointed its first rostered director, Lemarl Freckleton who earlier this year was nominated for the Breakthrough honor at the BAFTA Cymru Awards (Welsh branch of the British Academy). Part of global independent marketing agency collective The Miroma Group, Contented has turned out campaigns for such brands as The English & Welsh Cricket Board, BUPA, Gumtree, Linkedin, and the NBA2K League. Freckleton has already directed projects for Contented, including for The Hundred. He also brings prior experience working with brands including New Balance, The North Face and Burberry. Freckleton’s BAFTA Cymru Breakthrough nomination came for his TV series about Welsh language music of Black origin, which explored how to make the language more accessible. Integrated luxury marketing boutique Hudson Rouge has named Lara O’Shea as its new chief strategy officer. Hudson Rouge serves longtime client Lincoln Motor Company and will continue to grow and diversify its client roster, which includes Rolex, The Macallan, Newmark, Zhang Yuan, and CitizenM Hotels. O’Shea will report to Michael Stefanski, president of Hudson Rouge North America. O’Shea has over 20 years of experience across business and marketing strategy, brand management, consulting, media, journalism, education, and nonprofit–both on the client and agency sides. A graduate of WPP’s MBA Marketing fellowship program, she has worked across various agencies within WPP, including most recently as part of VMLY&R’s global strategic leadership team. O’Shea’s appointment signals closer integration between VMLY&R and Hudson Rouge to service an expanding luxury sector.
