Prolific Director/Photographer Paola Kudacki of Believe Media has set her creative sights on the New Year 2021. Unveiling the new Foo Fighters’ “Waiting on a War” music video, the cinematic piece represents a second, inspired collaboration for Paola with singer-songwriter Dave Grohl over the past year. The first was on the Foo Fighters’ hugely popular “Shame Shame” music video, featuring Sofia Boutella, released in Fall 2020.
For Believe Media’s Co-Founder/Executive Producer Liz Silver, she describes Paola as a “very deliberate filmmaker.” Silver notes, “She looks beneath the surface to find the human element in every subject and story. There is a raw honesty in her work. She brings an emotional connection to her subject that reveals the truth in what she photographs.”
“Paola's energy on-set is palpable and contagious,” adds Producer Matthew Shattuck. “It’s not just her giving direction—she’s hands-on. Her attention to every detail, big and small, is a testament to the passion, vision and care she brings to every project in her pursuit for beautiful storytelling.”
According to Paola, the new song “Waiting on a War” was reminiscent of her time growing up in Argentina during the infamous military coup d’etat. “I listened to the song and it reminded me of what it was like to be a child living in fear in uncertain times,” she explains. “I wanted to create a film that is inspiring to other young people, to give them a sense of hope.”
Paola holds a unique position on the Believe directorial roster. She has recently shot a campaign for Peloton, featuring the luminous Cynthia Erivo. A slice-of-life vignette, it is imbued with the belief that difficult is never impossible. Paola is also in the midst of a series of new projects to be released later this year in 2021. For Believe Media, as the demand for narrative content continues to grow, the company’s slate of feature and documentary projects is uniquely positioning itself with responsible thought-provoking stories.
