In the aftermath of the Super Bowl, iSPOT reports on one of the game’s best spots. Our iSPOT of the week is Doritos “Check Out Girl,” a consumer-created spot that made history for running on the game without the aid of an agency. Not only was it created by a consumer, but consumers voted to play it from the list of finalists Doritos created from 1,070 entries.
Although “Check Out Girl” was a TV commercial, the broadband connection is secure, with the spot having run on two sites for an extended period: CrashtheSuperbowl.com and SnackStrongProductions.com. Of course, most Super Bowl advertisers are extending their campaigns by playing their commercials and other video content online.
Research from Akai Technologies confirms that the use of broadband content by Super Bowl advertisers increases web traffic.
There’s life beyond football and this week’s iChat features a stimulating conversation with Raj Amin, CEO of HealthiNation, a video portal for health content that provides video ad opportunities for health marketers, including pharmaceutical companies. Broadband ads are healthier and may be eating into TV budgets, Amin said.
Don’t forget to keep us posted on broadband activities at your company. It’s good for your health, and the health of iSPOT, too.
